About the Podcast

The Book of Mormon, Digging Deeper

A scholarly, faithful exploration of the Book of Mormon — one episode at a time.

The Mission

Digging Deeper is a podcast dedicated to exploring the Book of Mormon with intellectual rigor and sincere faith. Each episode takes a single topic — a passage, a doctrine, a historical question, a scientific parallel — and examines it from every angle.

The goal is not to prove or disprove, but to understand more deeply. To ask the questions that don't always get asked on Sunday, and to discover that the answers are richer and more satisfying than we imagined.

Over 200 episodes in, the archive covers everything from ancient Near Eastern geography to quantum physics, from the Jaredites to the Restoration — always returning to the text, always anchored in faith.

About the Host

Mark Swint

Mark Swint has spent decades studying the Book of Mormon — not as an academic exercise, but as a lifelong act of devotion and curiosity. He began the podcast after years of personal study convinced him that the depth of the text had barely been scratched.

His approach is interdisciplinary: drawing on archaeology, linguistics, history, science, and scripture to illuminate what the Book of Mormon says and why it matters. He speaks as a believer, but thinks as a scholar.

Mark records from his home studio and releases new episodes regularly. He reads every message from listeners and considers their questions a vital part of the ongoing conversation.
